AI-moderated user interviews

Talk to real users without turning research into a static survey.

Askli designs an interview study around your product decision, conducts adaptive conversations with real participants, and returns findings that stay connected to the evidence.

How Askli works

One product question becomes a traceable research journey.

The research design, interviews, findings, integrity review, and final decision remain connected.

  1. Step 1Research question
  2. Step 2Research design
  3. Step 3Real participant interviews
  4. Step 4Evidence-backed findings
  5. Step 5Integrity Check
  6. Step 6Decision Review

What AI moderation means

A research plan guides the conversation. Participant answers shape the follow-up.

Designed around the decision

Askli identifies what the team must learn, who can answer it, and which evidence would change the decision.

Adaptive rather than scripted

A static survey asks everyone the same sequence. Askli can probe a concrete example, clarify a contradiction, or follow a relevant participant-raised signal.

Real participants

Invite customers, prospects, or community members through private links, or use Askli-supported recruiting when the exact audience is executable.

Evidence remains inspectable

Findings retain links to supporting evidence while counter-evidence, conditions, uncertainty, and unanswered questions stay visible.

Real people, two ways

Bring your audience or ask Askli to recruit.

Bring Your Own participants when you already have customers, beta users, prospects, or a community. Askli creates private interview links and keeps the research connected to the study.

Askli-recruited participants are available when each material audience requirement has a validated targeting or screening path. Askli does not silently broaden an unsupported audience.

What you receive

Findings that show both the answer and its limits.

Research question

Why do customers struggle during onboarding, and what would make the experience easier?

Research objectives
  • Identify the moments where onboarding progress stalls
  • Understand the current workaround or support path
  • Learn what evidence would make the next step feel safe
Example adaptive follow-up

“Can you walk me through the last time that happened, starting with what you expected to see?”

Possible supporting evidence

Illustrative: a participant can describe the exact step where expectations and the interface diverged, with the context preserved.

Possible contradictory evidence

Illustrative: another participant may complete that step easily but struggle later, limiting a single-cause conclusion.

Decision implication

Prioritize the specific breakdown supported across the evidence, and preserve competing explanations until the next study resolves them.

LongAudit / Integrity Check

The conclusions are challenged independently.

Askli checks whether findings remain supported by participant evidence, whether contradictions were preserved, and whether the Decision Review overstates what qualitative research can establish. The check can surface a warning or require review; it does not guarantee that the research is error-free.

Choose the research depth

Use the smallest study that can support the decision.

One focused question

Quick Check

A smaller qualitative study for one idea, feature, message, design, or other focused question.

A larger product decision

Decision Research

Deeper research when the decision requires multiple objectives, longer conversations, or a more specific audience.

Who Askli is for

Founders, product managers, researchers, and builders making product decisions.

Use Askli to test an idea before building, understand a feature before prioritizing, learn why customers stop, or investigate a larger decision that needs direct customer evidence.

Frequently asked questions

AI-moderated interview questions, answered.

What is an AI-moderated user interview?

It is a qualitative interview conducted by an AI moderator using a research plan. The moderator asks follow-up questions based on each participant’s responses while preserving the study objectives.

Does Askli interview real people?

Yes. You can invite people you already know or ask Askli to recruit participants when every audience requirement has a supported recruiting or screening path.

How is this different from asking AI what customers want?

Askli gathers evidence from real participants. It does not treat a language model’s prediction or a synthetic persona as customer evidence.

Are Askli findings statistically representative?

Not automatically. Askli provides qualitative evidence. Population estimates and statistically representative claims require an appropriate quantitative research design.

What does the Integrity Check do?

The Integrity Check independently reviews evidence support, contradictions, overreach, research-process risks, and whether the conclusions fit the recorded evidence. A pass is not a guarantee of correctness.
